Came in for dinner and waited about 45 minutes to get seated for my party of 2. They do not take reservations, but they have a waitlist iPad outside their restaurant where you can put your phone number in. Our servers were so sweet and checked in on us often! Decor is cute, though the space can feel a bit cramped since they fit so many people inside. As for food, I thought the takoyaki was a 5/5! Flavorful and crispy. My hakata tonkatsu had a very flavorful, thick broth that I enjoyed, and the price point was very fair. I would give the ramen a 4/5. It tastes good, but it is not necessarily worth such a long wait. They have five spice levels and keep the spicy powder they use in a jar on your table, so it is easy for you to customize your spice. Great location right in the Japantown Mall, so if you are already in the area, it is worth it to put your names in and shop around while waiting.

Came early on a Wednesday and the four of us were seated immediately. Service slowed down considerably as the place filled up. Appetizers were okay. Entrees were better. Stick to the ramen. Shishito peppers. This was the only dish that wasn't a total hit, a bit plain, but still good. Takoyaki. These were okay, I wish they were a little crispier. Chicken Paitan DX. Broth was insanely clean, rich, and creamy. The flavor of the grilled chicken was reminiscent of roast duck and was fall-off-the-bone tender. Spicy Tonktosu. A classic done well. Karaage bowl. Fried chicken was good. There was a surprising amount of meat compared to the Kakuni bowl, which seemed a little scant. Kakuni bowl. Sometimes with a piece of meat this large, it can look tender, but actually be chewy. Not the case here, the pork was soft all the way through. The rice to meat ratio seemed off to me as there was a lot of rice left over in my bowl.

Worked around area. Decided to check out Japantown and decided to wait 45 min for ramen. Yelp style with text for waitlist. iPad by front door, cannot miss. Fast service as always. Forgot to rid ginger. Soup would have been better without. Meat was chewy. Noodle not big fan, little bit too tough for my preference. Love the soup, big fan! Very Japanese style for the ambiance. Fast pace. Some views if sat by window. Restaurant does feel small because of the amount of people. Perfect if have plans to walk around for the wait. Parking, good luck! There's parking lot in plaza but parked on street meters right outside. Japantown is one of the place I would come and leave if i cannot find parkings.

We came on a weekend lunch and lunch was 'as fast as you can.' We sat and within 5 seconds, server was ready to take our order. It was definitely a rush. Food was excellent. Broth was smooth and not greasy. It was just right and not overly thick or watery. Flavor was just right and not salty. Noodle texture was on point, not over or under cooked. Servicing size is good. There could be more broth. The decor is modern and suitable for couples, family; not so suitable for single and large groups. Go enjoy this yummy ramen.

Marufuku Ramen in Japantown offers a cozy setting amidst the hustle and bustle, delivering a solid ramen experience. Now, let's get straight to the broth. Their Tonkotsu ramen? Absolutely spot on. Rich, flavorful broth that's been simmered to perfection, showcasing top-notch ingredients and attention to detail. Noodles? Cooked to a precise al dente, a delight to slurp up with every bite. And the chashu pork? Tender, succulent, packed with flavor that's simply mouthwatering. The menu offers a decent range of ramen options, each crafted with care to cater to various tastes. The gyoza and takoyaki? Executed well, adding a tasty complement to the main event. Service? Friendly and knowledgeable, but here's the kicker--be prepared to wait. The line can be a bit of a marathon, especially during peak hours. This could dampen the experience for those looking to dive straight into their ramen fix without the lengthy queue. I've rated Marufuku Ramen 4 stars because, while the food is top-notch, the wait can test your patience. And on the price front, it's a touch higher compared to other joints slinging noodles in the area. Overall, Marufuku Ramen is a solid choice for ramen aficionados seeking quality bowls of noodles in Japantown. Whether you're dining solo or with company, expect flavors that deliver and an experience that's worth the wait--literally.

I've been coming to this place for a few years now, and it's consistently been a great place for ramen. It's a bit challenging finding (free) parking in the area, but it's definitely worth it, especially since you can explore the rest of the mall/shopping center while you're here. There tends to be a bit of a wait, so I typically come on weekdays when I can. If I'm coming on a weekend, I always check the Yelp waitlist before arriving. Recently I tried their Hakata Tonkotsu ramen. I liked it, but it has a very strong ginger flavor that was a bit overwhelming for me. My go-to previously (when I was vegetarian) was their veggie ramen. It's super flavorful and I think they did a great job at marinating/seasoning the tofu, which is the dish's main protein. However, I have always felt it has a slight bitter flavor to it, which isn't my favorite. The ramen I highly recommend here is the Chicken Paitan. The flavor of the broth is amazing, and I have zero complaints. I usually add corn or some other toppings, but it can get pricey, especially since the ramen itself is already around $20. Overall, worth checking out!

Food: 5, Great chewy noodles, amazing broth and great pork. Bowl is a weird warped, clam shell, makes it awkward to push noodles around for proper soaking. Ambiance: 3.5, Too many tables jammed, no real nice way to get inbetween, so how dare the wait staff leave after walking us to one empty table between two overladen other tables, and you expect us to ask them to shimmie the tables to let us squeeze by. Service: 3, Loud and lots of people trying to squeeze their oversized strollers, and while we were not "rushed" after we paid, they asked us "do you want anything else" every 3 minutes. I get it, you want the 25% tip someone else could pay you, and instead my friend is trying to say thank you for taking him out for his birthday, that was interrupted twice. I guess if i can ignore/handle mean asian ladies at chinese restaurants with yummy food, i can handle 20 something college kids at this yummy ramen place passively urging me to go. I will come back.
